Bea Everett's sophomore album was released on 02.09.22, two years on from the release of her debut, 'Russian Doll' (2020).
This record mixes Bea's folky, theatrical, songwriter roots, with the brilliant production and arrangement skills of Ed Martin (Michael Baker, BabyEleanor) and Andrew Stuart-Buttle (Lucy Rose, The Staves) who bring grit and character reminiscent of sounds made by Radiohead, Phoebe Bridgers, Laura Marling and Portico Quartet.
LANDMARK explores the idea of home. Home, not just as a place, but as a feeling, a person, a safe place, physical or non-physical, among the chaos of life. The sounds of chaos and calm weave in and out of one another throught the record, representing the emotional undulations of a strange era experienced worldwide.
"It is testament to the quality of song writing on this album that despite being introspective it is still one to be enjoyed universally. Vocally Bea is extremely gifted and her heartfelt and passionate performance will literally take your breath away."
Darren Hougham, Full Circle Solar Stage
"Remember the first time you heard Joni Mitchell, Katie Melua, Norah Jones? After you’ve heard these songs you’ll also remember the first time you heard Bea Everett. She sings only ever from her heart and her very soul. They could all become classics - they should all become classics."
Mike Dixon, www.mikedixonmusic.com
“Bea has a voice which is difficult to put into words - powerful, ethereal, resonant, hypnotic, soothing, smoky. However you can describe it, she has a voice and an album you want to listen to again and again. On repeat. Each time you do, a different song on her new album “Landmark” will become a favourite. In the poignant track “Words of her Song” the girl seems to have it all. With Bea’s new album, there’s no “seems” about it.”
Isobel Dormon, The Forum Music and Arts Venue
“Deeply felt lyrics paired with a passionate and intense delivery – Bea Everett is the real deal. Her mesmerising live performance has won many, many fans in Broadstairs.”
Jo Tuffs, Broadstairs Folk Week
“Bea Everett’s brand new offering, ‘Landmark’, showcases a deep and mature songwriting talent. Melancholy melodies interweave arrangements complimented by strings, percussion, piano and harmonies that are sometimes haunting, sometimes uplifting but always finely and thoughtfully crafted. Contemporary production preserves the timeless nature of the tracks and defines a new era for Bea that is strong and refreshing.”
